Joey Barton names child after Muhammad Ali

Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton has named his child after boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

The 29-year-old became a father for the first time yesterday night, shortly after QPR claimed a 1-1 draw at Swansea City.

"He's here Cassius Joseph Barton. 7 pound 3 oz. Mother and baby are fine. Wow what a blessing that is," Barton wrote on Twitter.

Ali's original name when he broke through in boxing was Cassius Clay.
