Barton: 'I can be the best coach in the world'

Joey Barton has said that he can become the best football coach in the world.

The Queens Park Rangers midfielder recently undertook a UEFA 'B' licence course in Northern Ireland alongside Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who, for twentyfour7 Football, interviewed the 30-year-old.

When asked how good a coach he would be, Barton said: "I wouldn't do it if I thought I couldn't be the best in the world.

"As a player I set out to become the best player in the world. Obviously I don't live in a fantasy world, and I know that I never reached that as a player.

"I had a good go and maybe could have given it a bit more... I look back on my playing career fondly."

Having spent last season on loan in France with Marseille, Barton is now reportedly ready to take a pay cut to join Everton in the Premier League.
