Report: Blaise Matuidi to hold Real Madrid talks in January

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi will reportedly hold talks with Real Madrid in January with a view to joining the Spanish side on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old, who has been ever-present for the French outfit this season, will be out of contract next summer, meaning that he is free to discuss terms with interested parties on January 1.

Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is well aware of the midfielder's talent having worked with the player at PSG last season.

According to France Football, the Spanish outfit will hold talks with Matuidi's representatives over the next couple of weeks, despite PSG's reluctance to let the Frenchman leave.

Manchester United boss David Moyes, who is widely expected to sign at least one central midfielder in the winter transfer window, is also believed to be monitoring developments.
