Newcastle United 'target loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain's Kevin Trapp'

Newcastle United are allegedly keen to bring Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Kevin Trapp to the North-East on loan during the current transfer window.

The Germany international has served as back-up to Alphonse Areola at PSG this season, but Magpies boss Rafael Benitez is ready to offer him first-team football in the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.

A new goalkeeper is said to be high on the Spaniard's list of priorities, with Real Madrid's Kika Casilla also tipped as a potential option.

Newcastle are expected to strengthen in January and have also been linked with Chelsea left-back Kenedy, Islam Slimani from Leicester City, Liverpool striker Danny Ings and Watford hitman Troy Deeney.

The Magpies currently sit in 13th place in the Premier League table.
