Wednesday's Ligue 1 predictions including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Strasbourg

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Strasbourg.

Lens vs. Brest (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Lens take on Brest in Ligue 1 on Wednesday with the two sides separated by a solitary point in the league table ahead of the winter break.

The hosts, who have a game in hand on most sides in the division, can end 2020 in a top six position with a win.

We say: Lens 1-1 Brest

Brest come into this clash in the better form of the two sides, but have generally performed worse on the road this season.

We can envisage an evenly-matched draw, with Lens keeping their one point advantage over their opponents in the table.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Nimes vs. Dijon (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Nimes host Dijon in Ligue 1 on Wednesday with both sides coming into the clash inside the relegation zone.

The hosts can move outside of the bottom three by beating their opponents, with Dijon able to leapfrog their opponents into 18th place in the table should they prevail as victors.

We say: Nimes 1-1 Dijon

Dijon cannot afford to lose this match, but having picked up under Linares, we expect them to avoid defeat and being cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

The return of Balde in attack should inspire them, with former Swansea City midfielder Bersant Celina likely to be grateful to have a focal point to play into.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Nice vs. Lorient (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Nice and Lorient will both be looking to bounce back from dampening defeats in Ligue 1 when the two sides do battle at the Allianz Riviera on Wednesday evening.

Les Aiglons suffered a 4-1 home defeat to Lyon at the weekend, whereas Lorient also lost on their own patch as Rennes cruised to a 3-0 win last time out.

We say: Nice 1-0 Lorient

Both of these teams will be desperate to round off the year on a high note after a challenging start to the campaign, and Lorient may feel cautiously optimistic given Nice's worrying home form. However, Ursea's men should still have too much quality for the relegation candidates, even without a recognised striker, so we expect Les Aiglons to take the spoils in this one.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Rennes vs. Metz (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Rennes take on Metz in Ligue 1 on Wednesday, with the hosts able to move into a top-four position with a victory.

The visitors will be no pushovers, however, having won their last two matches without conceding a goal to move back into the top half of the table.

We say: Rennes 1-0 Metz

With Rennes coming back into form since exiting the Champions League, we can envisage a fourth successive victory for Stephan's side.

Metz will certainly be no pushovers, though, boasting an excellent defensive record this season, but may lack a little bit of quality in transition without Niane.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Bordeaux vs. Reims (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Bordeaux welcome Reims in Ligue 1 on Wednesday, with the visitors looking to avoid dropping into the relegation zone ahead of France's winter break.

The hosts, meanwhile, can end 2020 in a top half position in the table by beating their opponents.

We say: Bordeaux 1-1 Reims

With Reims' form picking up of late, we can see them gaining the point they require to ensure they do not spend Christmas in the relegation zone.

With the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa and Josh Maja, Bordeaux arguably have more range with their attacking threats, but Dia is due a goal and should deliver for the visitors on Wednesday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Angers vs. Marseille (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Marseille manager Andre Villas-Boas pictured in October 2020© Reuters

Angers and Marseille will both be aiming to return to winning ways in Ligue 1 when the two sides round off 2020 with a showdown at the Stade Raymond Kopa.

Stephane Moulin's side played out a 1-1 draw with Nantes in their most recent outing, while Marseille also took a point from their clash with Reims on Saturday.

We say: Angers 1-2 Marseille

Despite their position in the top half of the table, Angers have been struggling for results against sides whom they would have expected to beat. Bar their recent loss at Rennes, Marseille's away form makes for good reading for the Olympiens faithful heading into this one, and we expect Villas-Boas's side to get their title charge back on track with a narrow win in their final game of 2020.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Monaco vs. St Etienne (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Monaco will be hoping to build on their weekend victory over basement side Dijon when they welcome a rejuvenated Saint-Etienne to the Stade Louis-II for Wednesday's Ligue 1 clash.

The hosts ended a three-game losing run with their 1-0 win at Dijon, while Saint-Etienne extended their unbeaten streak to five matches with a draw against Nimes.

We say: Monaco 1-1 Saint-Etienne

Saint-Etienne's unbeaten run has given the Verts faithful cause for optimism heading into 2021, but the visitors would do extremely well to claim all three points at Monaco. That being said, Puel's side boast a strong recent record against Les Monegasques, who did not look at all convincing in their narrow win at Dijon, so we can see both teams walking away with a point before the Christmas break.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Montpellier vs. Lille (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Montpellier HSC entertain league leaders Lille in Ligue 1 on Wednesday, with the hosts able to end the calendar year in a top four position with a win.

Lille head into the game level on points with Lyon at the top of the table, with a superior goal difference of one, so they may require a heavy win to remain top at Christmas.

We say: Montpellier HSC 0-2 Lille

We expect Lille to be too strong for the hosts, with Montpellier perhaps lacking the offensive quality to trouble the visitors in transition.

Should David receive a start, this could be the match which really kick-fires his Lille career after a stuttering start to life in France.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lyon vs. Nantes (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Lyon manager Rudi Garcia pictured in November 2020© Reuters

Lyon will look to give themselves the best chance possible of ending 2020 at the top of the Ligue 1 table when they welcome a struggling Nantes to the Groupama Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The hosts eased to a 4-1 victory at Nice in their last outing, while Nantes managed to hold Angers to a draw in gameweek 16.

We say: Lyon 3-0 Nantes

Nantes fans will have fond memories of their team's trip to the Groupama Stadium last season, but the two sides are enduring completely contrasting fortunes this time around. Les Gones certainly look capable of marching to top-flight glory, whereas Nantes are still finding their feet under Collot, so this should be a resounding win for Garcia's side.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

PSG vs. Strasbourg (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Paris Saint-Germain will be desperate to get their Ligue 1 title charge back on track when they welcome Strasbourg to the Parc des Princes for Wednesday's showdown.

The hosts played out a goalless stalemate with fellow title hopefuls Lille in their most recent outing, whereas Strasbourg's unbeaten run ended at the hands of Bordeaux.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 Strasbourg

Strasbourg had enjoyed a string of respectable results before that loss to Bordeaux brought them crashing back down to earth, and it is extremely difficult to see Les Coureurs making their trip to the capital count for something. PSG will view this game as the perfect opportunity to end the year on a high and rectify the weekend's mistakes, so we expect the champions to cruise to three points in their final game of 2020.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
