Friday's Ligue 1 predictions including Monaco vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Rennes vs. Bordeaux (Friday, 6.00pm)

Rennes make their return to Ligue 1 action on Friday when they welcome Bordeaux to the Roazhon Park for what promises to be a fascinating showdown.

The hosts occupy third spot in the table despite an alarming dip in form, whereas Bordeaux sit 12th having lost three of their last four matches.

We say: Rennes 1-1 Bordeaux

Neither Rennes nor Bordeaux have covered themselves in glory over the past few weeks, but both managers would have used the international break to their advantage as Ligue 1 takes precedence over international football once more. Rennes will certainly have one eye on their impending Champions League clash with Chelsea and will not want to take too many risks in this one, so we expect Friday's clash to end all square.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Monaco vs. PSG (Friday, 8.00pm)

Monaco will attempt to defy the odds and stop Paris Saint-Germain in their tracks when Niko Kovac's men play host to the champions in Friday's Ligue 1 encounter.

Both sides marched to victory in their most recent games before the international break, with the hosts overcoming Nice 2-1 and PSG scoring three against Rennes in a straightforward win.

We say: Monaco 1-3 Paris Saint-Germain

Monaco fans would have been concerned about their side being blown away by the superior attacking quality of PSG before the international break, but this should be a much more closely-fought affair than first anticipated given PSG's abundance of injuries. However, being able to hopefully welcome Neymar and Mbappe back to the fold would be a huge boost for the champions, and in spite of their host of absentees, we still expect Tuchel's men to get the job done.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
