David Beckham criticised in France

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder David Beckham has been criticised for his performance in the Champions League clash with Barcelona on Tuesday.

The former England captain was named in the starting team for the 2-2 draw in the first leg of the quarter-final clash, with PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti praising his performance.

However, French newspaper L'Equipe gave Beckham a 3/10 rating, while branding his performance "notably poor".

The publication also suggested that "apart from two of three interesting free kicks, he was never in it".

Beckham is the only Englishman left in the Champions League this season.
