Simon Grayson wins League One accolade

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has been named as the League One manager of the month for September.

The Deepdale side won maximum points during the month, and that form has taken them to fourth position in the League One table.

September started with a nervy 2-1 success over Oldham Athletic, before North End enjoyed an easier time of it the following weekend by coasting past Stevenage.

Grayson then guided his side to a 1-0 triumph at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United, with the month ending with a victory over Swindon Town.
