Portsmouth have been handed a boost in their battle to get out of administration with the news that they are to receive previously withheld payments from the Football League.
The club will be given around £200,000 per month from now until the end of the season.
The money, which is stopped as soon as a club goes into administration, is from the media and is distributed by the Football League to all sides.
"This will go a long way towards plugging the gap," said administrator Trevor Birch.
Pompey can now expect to receive up to £800,000 in guaranteed payments as administrators look to salvage the club.
