Montreal Impact earn away win at Portland Timbers

Montreal Impact have secured a 2-1 away win over Portland Timbers as strikes from Hassoun Camara and Felipe Martins earned them the three points.

The visitors started strongly and could have been ahead when Marco Di Vaio met Andrea Pisanu's cross but Donovan Ricketts made the save to keep the ball out.

Montreal upped the ante and took the lead when Camara fired an overhead kick into the net following Portland's failure to clear the danger from a free kick.

Darlington Nagbe almost got the hosts back into the game but his effort was well beaten away by Troy Perkins.

After the break, the visitors doubled their lead when Andres Romero crossed into the area and Felipe Martins slid the ball in from close range.

Portland got a goal back in the 80th minute when Ryan Johnson turned in Ben Zemanski's delivery to set up a tense finish, but the Impact were able to hold out for the win.
