Toronto FC beat Philadelphia Union 1-0 in the MLS, despite playing most of the match with 10 men.

Philadelphia Union have earned a dramatic late draw with Toronto, thanks to a last-minute Jack McIrnerney goal.

A header from Jonathan Osorio had given the home side the lead after Doneil Henry had been sent off in the first half.

It was Toronto who started the game on the front foot, with Bobby Convey missing from long range before Robert Earnshaw was unable to test the goalkeeper from a tight angle.

Union then hit the post, with a powerful effort from outside the box by Sebastien Le Toux that signalled an improvement in their performance.

Raymon Gaddis missed the target from the edge of the area twice in quick succession for the visitors, before Henry was shown his second yellow card for a late challenge five minutes from the break.

Despite being a man down, it was Toronto who came out stronger in the second half. First Earnshaw missed with a difficult chance, before Steven Caldwell headed just wide from Convey's free kick.

The home side then took the lead midway through the half when Osorio was on hand to head home Jeremy Brockie's curling cross.

Philadelphia pushed hard for an equaliser after that, but apart from a couple of long-range efforts, the away side failed to really test the Toronto defence.

That was until the 91st minute when McInerney found space inside the box and made no mistake, firing the ball into the bottom corner to earn his side a point.
