Philadelphia Union 1-0 Columbus Crew

Phildelphia Union have recorded their first win of the MLS season with a 1-0 win over Columbus Crew at the PPL Park.

The victory has also condemned the Crew to their second consecutive defeat of the campaign.

The only goal of the game came from the penalty spot in the 38th minute when Gabriel Gomez smashed in from 12 yards following Eric Gehrig's handball.

The win has lifted the Union up one place in the Eastern Conference to eighth, while Columbus have dropped down to fifth.
