League One Roundup: Peterborough United go top with win over Colchester United

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's action from League One as Peterborough United go top thanks to a 3-1 victory over Colchester United.

Peterborough United climbed to the top of League One with a 3-1 victory over Colchester United, despite having Kgosi Ntlhe sent off for a second bookable offence.

Goals from Conor Washington, Ntlhe and Jermaine Anderson had put Peterborough in a strong position before the defender was sent off ten minutes from time.

Oldham Athletic, meanwhile, secured their first win of the season at Doncaster Rovers thanks to goals from Jonson Clarke-Harris and Jonathan Forte.

Substitute Stephen Dobbie extended Fleetwood Town's unbeaten start to the season with a late equaliser against Leyton Orient, while Gillingham saw off the challenge of Crewe Alexandra with a 2-0 victory.

Kyle McFadzean was sent off for MK Dons with an hour gone against Crawley Town, but the hosts still managed to win 2-0 with the help of Benik Afobe's last-minute strike.

Red was a familiar colour on the day, with Chesterfield's Ian Evatt also receiving an early bath in his side's 2-1 triumph over Port Vale.

Preston North End maintained their excellent start to the season with an entertaining draw against Sheffield United at Deepdale.

Andy Little opened the scoring for Preston before Jose Baxter levelled for the visitors with a deflected effort from just outside the box.

Two goals in six minutes helped Bradford City overcome Rochdale 2-0, while Scunthorpe scored a quickfire double of their own in their 2-1 win over Walsall.

An even contest at the County Ground saw Coventry City settle for a 1-1 draw against Swindon Town, despite going in front in the first half through a Josh McQuoid effort.

There was also nothing to seperate Yeovil Town and Barnsley, who drew 1-1 after a Martin Cranie own goal cancelled out Conor Hourihane's 30 yard strike.

Results in full: Colchester United 1-3 Peterborough United, Doncaster 0-2 Oldham Athletic, Fleetwood Town 1-1 Leyton Orient, Gillingham 2-0 Crewe Alexandra, MK Dons 2-0 Crawley Town, Port Vale 1-2 Chesterfield, Preston North End 1-1 Sheffield United, Rochdale 0-2 Bradford City, Scunthorpe United 2-1 Walsall, Swindon Town 1-1 Coventry City, Yeovil Town 1-1 Barnsley
