Oldham Athletic's Lee Croft to face no police action over racism allegations

Croft escapes police action

Oldham Athletic midfielder Lee Croft has escaped any police charges after an alleged racial abuse incident involving a ball boy.

The 27-year-old denied targeting any racial references to the young boy after angrily confronting him on the sidelines during Oldham's 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.

Oldham released a statement, which said: "South Yorkshire Police have found no evidence to support such allegations and they do not intend to take any further action in relation to this matter."

Croft approached the ball boy at the final whistle to shake hands.
