Michael Dawson has said that he still possesses the "hunger" to succeed after securing a return to Nottingham Forest.
Dawson came through the youth system at Forest and made 91 appearances for the first team before signing for Tottenham Hotspur in 2005.
Now 34, the centre-back is gearing up for his second period at the City Ground at a time when the club are looking to secure promotion to the Premier League.
Dawson is quoted by the Nottingham Post as saying: "I have plenty of hunger still. When that goes will be the time when I hang my boots up, but right now I feel no different to when I was a young kid.
"The hunger to be successful is still there for me, just as much as ever. When that goes, it is time to finish but pre-season is great, I have always enjoyed putting the work in and that is the most important thing at this time of year."
Forest are currently regarded as fourth favourites for the Championship title by the majority of bookmakers.
