Norwich City 'failed with £8m offer for Steven Naismith'

Norwich City reportedly failed with an £8m bid for Everton's Steven Naismith on the final day of the transfer window.

Everton reportedly rejected an £8m bid from Norwich City for Steven Naismith on the final day of the transfer window.

It was rumoured that the Canaries were in the market for an attacker on Tuesday, and Naismith emerged as a target for Alex Neil's side.

Roberto Martinez was unwilling to let the Scotland international leave Goodison Park, despite the Liverpool Echo claiming that Norwich tabled a bid worth £8m.

Norwich would add to their squad in the closing stages of the window by signing Matt Jarvis on a season-long loan deal from West Ham United.
