Draw with Fulham leaves Norwich City winless in nine

Norwich City's winless Premier League run has been stretched to nine games courtesy of a goalless draw with Fulham at Carrow Road.

The goal-shy Canaries have not recorded a top-flight victory since December and they failed to net for the fifth time in six matches this afternoon.

January signing Luciano Becchio was given the responsibility of leading the Norwich attack in the absence of injured skipper Grant Holt.

He was denied a first goal for his new club when Fulham stopper Mark Schwarzer saved his early strike from just inside the area.

The Argentine later spurned two headed opportunities, and his teammates were equally wasteful throughout a 90 minutes during which neither goalkeeper was severely tested.

Russell Martin headed a Bradley Johnson cross over the bar, while Schwarzer easily gathered a tame Robert Snodgrass shot.

Fulham's forward ventures offered little hope of an opener as Mark Bunn parried away a long-range Steve Sidwell effort.

Damien Duff's deflected shot that landed on the roof of the net was the closest either side came to an opener, but the contest finished deadlocked.
