John Ruddy nearing Norwich City return

Ruddy nearing Norwich return

John Ruddy continued his recovery from a thigh injury by turning out for Norwich City's development squad yesterday evening.

The England goalkeeper has spent the last five months on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

However, he could return to keep goal for the Canaries against Reading on Saturday following his outing against the second string of Bolton Wanderers.

"John was on form and made a couple of good stops. He's getting there definitely. There was plenty of action for him tonight - they put lots of crosses in and he made some good saves," said development squad coach Scott Marshall.

"I'm sure he'll be pleased with the match action he got and it's another one on the road to getting back to full fitness."

Mark Bunn and Lee Camp have played in goal for Norwich during Ruddy's absence.
