Norwich City 'to sack Chris Hughton if they lose'

Chris Hughton will be sacked as Norwich City manager should they be beaten by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, according to reports.

Norwich City will reportedly sack manager Chris Hughton if his side lose against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Canaries go into the game with Spurs on the back of just one win from 13 games and City chief executive David McNally has publicly said that he is keeping the club's options open regarding who will be in charge at Carrow Road.

However, the Sunday Mirror claims that the board see Hughton as a "dead man walking" and have even earmarked Neil Lennon as the outstanding choice to replace him.

It is believed that the ex-Newcastle United coach's cautious tactics and the lack of results achieved with a squad that saw significant reinforcements in the summer has led Norwich's hierarchy to examine other options for the managerial hot seat.

The report also claims that Michael Laudrup is being considered as "an intriguing possibility", while agents are being asked to put forward possible successors.
