Norwich City captain Russell Martin 'fine' after hernia surgery

Norwich captain Martin 'fine' after surgery

Russell Martin's recent hernia operation won't hinder his pre-season preparations, Norwich City manager Neil Adams has confirmed.

Canaries captain Martin, who made 35 appearances in all competitions last season, should still be able to return to training towards the end of this month.

"Russell has just had a little hernia operation," Adams told the club website.

"It was one where, did we leave him? It wasn't impeding him too much.

"He wasn't in too much pain, but we decided to do it really early and you're talking two weeks after the operation now, so he's got plenty of time."

Norwich are back in the Championship next season after relegation from the Premier League.
