Former Italy Under-21 international suffers cardiac arrest

Former Italy Under-21s and Serie B Livorno player Piermario Morosini has suffered a cardiac arrest and is now in an induced coma.

The midfielder has been rushed to Santo Spirito hospital after collapsing in the 31st minute of a Serie B encounter at Pescara.

A defibrillator was also used on the 25-year-old, with the game subsequently being called off as many players left the pitch in tears.

The situation is similar to Bolton player Fabrice Muamba's collapse at Tottenham last month.
