Joaquin Caparros has agreed to take over as manager of Real Mallorca, the club have confirmed.
The 55-year-old replaces Michael Laudrup after the Danish boss resigned last week.
During a press conference earlier today, Caparros said that he is looking forward to the "challenge" ahead.
"This is a challenge, a club with very good facilities," claimed the new coach. "It is a nice challenge. The league is very even.
"We will have to compete and to have continuity. The pressure is good and necessary.
"This is a young team that can perform well. there is much competition for place, everyone will have to work hard every training session."
Caparros has previously managed Villarreal and Sevilla.
