George Barker joins Newport County on emergency loan

Newport County have signed Brighton & Hove Albion striker George Barker on an emergency loan.

The 22-year-old, who has made just one first-team appearance for the Seagulls this season, will remain at Rodney Parade until New Year's Day.

Newport have turned to Barker at a time when they are without Chris Zebroski and Aaron O'Connor through injury.

Barker is expected to make his debut for the Exiles in this afternoon's League Two clash with Cheltenham Town.
