Haris Vuckic ruled out for season

Newcastle United midfielder Haris Vuckic has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

The Slovenian international suffered the problem during the Magpies' Under-21 win at Aston Villa on Monday.

"Haris Vuckic will be sidelined for the remainder of the season after rupturing his cruciate ligament in his left knee," said a club spokesman.

"Having been assessed by the club's medical staff, it has been confirmed that Vuckic will not play again during the 2012-13 campaign."

Vuckic joined Newcastle from NK Domzale in 2009 but has made only 14 appearances during his time on Tyneside.
