Newcastle United midfielder Haris Vuckic hopes to earn a place in Alan Pardew's Premier League team by continuing to impress during the club's Europa League matches.

Newcastle United matchwinner Haris Vuckic has said that he is hoping his impressive display in tonight's Europa League win over Atromitos will lead to him being given a chance to perform in the Premier League.

After replacing injury-troubled full-back Ryan Taylor after 11 minutes at the Sports Direct Arena, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder struck his first senior goal for the club to help the Magpies reach the group stage with a 1-0 second-leg success.

"The team is very happy that we made it through. It's very good experience for us youngsters playing in Europe," he told BBC Sport.

"If you're not involved in a Premier League game you get a chance in Europe and you can show the manager you can play in the Premier League as well."

Vuckic spent six weeks on loan at Cardiff City last season, scoring once in five Championship appearances.
