Pardew 'not worried' by Krul's fitness

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted that he has no concerns over goalkeeper Tim Krul's return to fitness.

The Dutchman underwent surgery after suffering a dislocated shoulder in April, but the keeper could return to action in the Magpies' pre-season fixtures against Rangers and Braga next month.

"Tim's had a tough week," Pardew told SportMail. "He's come through that, and we'll have to see where he is, but I've got no worries about him at all."

Rob Elliot has played in goal for Newcastle in all of the club's five pre-season matches.
