Gonzalo Higuain "delighted" to join Napoli

Gonzalo Higuain has revealed that he sought the advice of others before deciding to leave Real Madrid for Napoli.

The 25-year-old striker completed a £32m move to Naples last week following protracted negotiations with Arsenal.

"It was a considered choice," the Argentine told reporters. "I got advice from some former Madrid teammates and I spoke to my Argentinean friends who had been at Napoli, and also to Pepe Reina.

"I'm delighted to be here and I hope I can repay the faith shown in me. I felt the affection from the moment I set foot inside the San Paolo, which is a legendary stadium."

Higuain and Reina were paraded at the Stadio San Paolo before the Partenopei's 3-1 win over Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly.
