Edinson Cavani could be on his way out of Napoli after his wife was mugged in Naples.
It is not the first time that Cavani and his family have fallen victim to criminal activity while living in the city.
In October of last year, the 25-year-old's house was burgled while he was away on international duty.
The Uruguayan's agent, Claudio Anellucci, has confirmed that Maria Soledad fled to England to be with her husband, who is participating in the Olympics.
Cavani's future at Napoli now hangs in the balance as Anellucci announced that this type of incident happens "too often".
"It is not a good moment, but they are trying to get over it," he said. "She has left Naples to join Cavani. It is difficult to get used to the idea that these sort of things can happen to you.
"It is true that incidents of this type can happen to anybody, but the truth is they happen too often."
Cavani joined Napoli from Palermo in 2010.
