Motherwell sign Connor Ripley from Boro

Motherwell have signed goalkeeper Connor Ripley from Middlesbrough on a six-month loan.

The 22-year-old has previously spent time on loan at Oxford United, Bradford City, and Swedish club Ostersund.

Ripley joined Boro from Blackburn Rovers in 2009, and has made three first-team appearances at the Riverside Stadium.

Speaking to Motherwell's website, Ripley said: "I'm very pleased to be here and after the gaffer gave me a call yesterday to say everything had gone through, I couldn't get in the car quick enough to get up to Scotland.

"I want to play at the highest standard possible. I know I am going to have to work hard to get into the starting XI, but if I can do that and improve as a goalkeeper, I'll be happy."

Ripley is the son of former Middlesbrough and Blackburn winger Stuart Ripley.
