Josh Murphy talks up "perfect" MK Dons debut

Josh Murphy hopes that scoring the winning goal against Cardiff City on his MK Dons debut earlier this week will be enough to earn him a place in the starting lineup.

MK Dons winger Josh Murphy has admitted that he is still "buzzing" following his goalscoring debut for the club.

The Norwich City loanee scored the winning goal in Tuesday night's League Cup tie against Cardiff City.

Murphy, who will spend the remainder of the campaign with the Dons after joining last week, has now targeted a regular spot in the starting lineup.

"It was the perfect debut for me," he told the Championship outfit's official website. "Getting an assist and a goal but also win the match after going a goal down - it was a brilliant!

"I was buzzing to be involved in the squad [at Reading] on Saturday because I didn't think I'd be included so quickly. Watching the boys showed me I'm coming into a good team so I know I've got to work hard and take my chance when it comes – hopefully I've done that.

"I thought I'd missed [my chance] because it hit the post! I'll take any goal but I'm really just glad the boys stuck in there and got the win."

Murphy signed a new two-year deal at Carrow Road before being sent out on loan to gain further experience.
