Middlesbrough loan Daniel Ayala from Norwich City

Managerless Middlesbrough have signed defender Daniel Ayala on an emergency three-month loan from Norwich City.

The 22-year-old, who spent last season in the Championship with Nottingham Forest, is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Canaries this season.

The Spaniard will be eligible for this Friday's Championship match against Doncaster Rovers at the Riverside.

He will know former Norwich teammates Kei Kamara and Jacob Butterfield at the Riverside.

Boro are yet to appoint a new boss since the sacking of Tony Mowbray earlier this week, with Tony Pulis the current favourite for the job.
