Middlesbrough have ended a run of seven games without a goal by beating Ipswich Town 2-0 in their Championship match at the Riverside Stadium.
The visitors wasted a good chance to take the lead when the ball deflected kindly into the path of Paul Taylor, but the striker fired his attempt over the bar.
The home side came close soon after as Mustapha Carayol drove through the midfield before drilling an effort just wide of the post.
In the 29th minute Middlesbrough took the lead when Danny Graham poked home from close range after the keeper had parried a strike from Carayol.
At the end of the first half the hosts scored their second of the match, as Graham headed in from a Grant Leadbitter corner.
The visitors pushed for a goal after the break, as Daryl Murphy forced a save from Dimi Konstantopoulos with a shot from the edge of the box.
Christophe Berra came close to pulling a goal back in the closing stages, but the keeper saved his header as the home side held on to claim the three points.
