Aitor Karanka "delighted" with Patrick Bamford loan

Aitor Karanka has revealed that he is "delighted" that Patrick Bamford has joined his Middlesbrough side on loan for the 2014-15 season.

Chelsea confirmed that the 20-year-old will head to the Riverside on loan following a lengthy negotiation process.

The manager told the club's website: "Everyone knows that Patrick is a very good player with a bright future in the game. He scored a lot of goals during his previous loan spells and will be a good addition to our squad.

"I first enquired about trying to bring Patrick to Middlesbrough last December so I am delighted that everything has now been agreed. We'll be working up until the last seconds."

Bamford has previously had loan spells with Derby County and MK Dons.
