Marseille deny Chelsea Cesar Azpilicueta deal

French club Marseille have denied that they have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sell Spanish full-back Cesar Azpilicueta.

French media have reported that Azpilicueta is to move to London for £6.3m, but the club's president Vincet Labrune has now strongly denied any agreement.

"I do not know who started this story, but they are totally wrong," Labrune told La Marseillaise. "It surely comes from agents that have an interest in the deal.

"Maybe they imagine that by running around making a noise about [£6.3m] it will make a difference, but it will not.

"For the moment nothing is happening."

Azpilicueta signed for Marseille from Osasuna in 2010.
