Marseille come from behind to beat Troyes

Marseille needed two goals inside the last 10 minutes to register a 2-1 win over Troyes in Ligue 1 this afternoon.

Jordan Ayew, Andre-Pierre Gignac and Mathieu Valbuena all had good chances to put the hosts ahead in a first half dominated by Marseille, but none of their efforts found the target.

The home side continued to look the more likely team to score after the break, with Joey Barton seeing his effort from inside the penalty area blocked.

However, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock, with Marcos catching out the Marseille defence in the 70th minute to give Troyes the lead.

The hosts pushed hard as they looked for an equaliser, bringing on Modou Sougou who set up Nicolas N'Koulou for an 80th-minute equaliser.

Sougou struck again two minute later, this time picking out Gignac who scored the winner for Marseille.

The result moves Marseille back up to third in the Ligue 1 table, while Troyes remain bottom.
