Chris Beardsley joins Mansfield Town for third spell

Beardsley joins Stags for third time

Mansfield Town have completed the signing of striker Chris Beardsley on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old, who will begin his third spell with the Stags, left previous club Stevenage following Graham Westley's departure as manager.

Mansfield manager Adam Murray told the club's official website: "Chris offers something we lacked last year - a bit of know-how, experience and guile in this league.

"He's somebody who knows how a dressing room should be run. He's worked under Graham Westley for a while and that's a tough camp to be in, so I'm really pleased with this one."

Beardsley played for Mansfield between 2002 and 2004, and again between 2005 and 2007.
