Zinedine Zidane 'furious with Real Madrid over failed Paul Pogba move'

Zidane 'furious with Madrid over failed Pogba move'

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reportedly furious with his club for failing to secure a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba during this summer's transfer window.

Los Blancos have been strongly linked with a swoop for the France international over the last few months, although United are believed to value the 2018 World Cup winner in the region of £180m.

Pogba's agent has reportedly pleaded with the Red Devils to sell the midfielder ahead of Monday's European deadline, but it is unlikely that the English club would sanction a move at this stage.

According to Sport, Zidane feels 'let down' and 'lied to' by Madrid president Florentino Perez as the head coach does not believe that his club made a serious attempt to sign the Frenchman this summer.

Pogba has been an ever-present for United in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign, not missing a minute of their three Premier League fixtures.

However, the former Le Havre youngster is believed to have made it clear that he will not be signing a new contract at Old Trafford.
