Manchester United's chances of Jadon Sancho are set to be boosted by Ed Woodward leaving the club this summer, according to a report.

Ed Woodward's imminent exit from Manchester United could boost the Red Devils' hopes of signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, according to a report.

United's chief executive Woodward is set to leave the club at the end of the current campaign, with the 49-year-old reportedly resigning after being opposed to the Glazer's plans for European Super League participation.

The Red Devils' pursuit of Sancho dominated talk of the transfer window last summer, but the English giants were unwilling to meet Dortmund's nine-figure asking price and the attacker remained in Germany.

According to the Daily Star, Woodward and Dortmund had a fractious relationship, as the United chief believed that Dortmund's £109m valuation of Sancho was a negotiation tactic rather than a serious asking price.

As a result, the report adds that Woodward leaving could put United in a better position to sign Sancho this summer, although Paris Saint-Germain have supposedly joined the race for the 21-year-old.

Sancho boasts 12 goals and 16 assists from 32 appearances in all competitions this season, and his contract at the Westfalenstadion is due to expire in the summer of 2023.
