Villarreal president Fernando Roig says that his club are open to selling Pau Torres, who continues to be linked with Manchester United.

Villarreal president Fernando Roig has revealed that his club are open to selling Pau Torres during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for the Yellow Submarine and played a key role in his side beating Manchester United in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.

Man United are said to view the Spain international as a potential long-term partner for Harry Maguire in the middle of their defence.

Roig has now opened the door for the 20-time English champions to sign Torres, but the Villarreal president has insisted that the defender will not be sold on the cheap in the upcoming market.

"If they arrive with the money and the player wants to move but there must be an agreement between all three parties," Roig told El Transistor when questioned on the transfer interest.

Manchester City and Real Madrid are also thought to be admirers of the Spaniard.
