United end Diame interest

Manchester United have withdrawn their interest in Wigan Athletic's Mohamed Diame due to concerns over the player's health, the Daily Mail reports.

The midfielder, who joined the Latics for £3m in 2009, has a heart condition and keeps a defibrillator near to the touchline during games.

United are keen to sign a new midfielder before the start of the new campaign, with Paul Pogba on the verge of a move to Italian giants Juventus.

However, the Premier League runners-up are on the brink of signing Borussia Dortmund's Shinji Kagawa in a deal worth £7m.

Diame is out of contract at the DW Stadium this summer, and has also attracted the interest of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton.
