Report: Manchester United to trigger Neymar's £140m release clause

Report: Man Utd to pay £140m for Neymar

Manchester United are reportedly planning to meet Neymar's £140m release clause in the summer.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a big-money move for the Brazilian since last summer, but so far, the 23-year-old has not been tempted by a transfer.

La Liga stars Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo have also been rumoured as targets for United, but reports in France have claimed that the Premier League giants will part with a huge chunk of cash to land Neymar.

According to Le 10 Sport, United have been sparked into a move after discovering that the attacker's talks with Barcelona over a new contract have broken down.

Neymar, who has scored 16 goals in 20 matches for Barca so far this season, has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal at Camp Nou.
