Barcelona fail with an approach for Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly told Barcelona that centre-back Victor Lindelof was not for sale this summer after the Spanish champions made an approach for the Sweden international.

Lindelof struggled for the Red Devils during the 2017-18 campaign following a switch from Benfica.

The centre-back was much improved last term, however, making 40 appearances in all competitions during his second season in English football.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca contacted United earlier this month to discuss a potential move for Lindelof, who won two league titles with Benfica ahead of a move to Old Trafford.

However, the report claims that the 20-time English champions insisted that the 29-time Sweden international was not for sale.

Barca are expected to be in the market for another centre-back this summer, having seemingly missed out on the chance to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax.
