Man United 'ready to discuss new contract for Diogo Dalot'

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to open talks with Diogo Dalot over a new deal at the club.

The Portugal international has recently lost his starting role at right-back to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but he has been a regular for the club this term, making 20 appearances in all competitions.

Dalot's recent omission from the starting XI has again led to speculation surrounding his future, with the defender's contract at Old Trafford due to expire in June 2023.

However, according to TEAMtalk, the 20-time English champions are ready to discuss a new deal with the former Porto youngster, who impressed on loan at AC Milan last term.

The report claims that Dalot is keen to pen fresh terms at Man United but first wants assurances over his future at the club, with a new manager set to arrive at the end of the campaign.

The Portuguese has made 15 top-flight appearances for the Red Devils this term but has been an unused substitute in their last three league matches with Leeds United, Watford and Manchester City.

Roma are believed to be interested in signing Dalot during this summer's transfer window.
