Napoli have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester United over the signing of striker Rasmus Hojlund.
The Danish striker has struggled to produce his best form since joining Man United from Atalanta BC in the summer of 2023, mustering just 14 goals in 62 Premier League appearances.
As a result, Man United have delved into the transfer market to strengthen their attacking options with the additions of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Hojlund has ultimately been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, with the club keen to move him on despite his initial insistence to stay and fight for his place in Ruben Amorim's squad.
Napoli agree Hojlund deal with Man United
Napoli have since emerged as the frontrunners for Hojlund's signature, although it was recently reported that they were yet to agree a deal with Man United.
However, Sky Sports News are now reporting that Napoli has reached an agreement with Man United to sign Hojlund on a season-long loan move.
The deal contains a conditional obligation to buy, which will be activated if Antonio Conte's side secures qualification for next season's Champions League.
Napoli are expected to pay a €6m (£5m) loan fee, with the obligation-to-buy fee believed to be set at €44m (£38m).
While the two clubs have agreed a deal, Hojlund still need to finalise personal terms before he completes a move to the Serie A champions.
Hojlund to replace Lukaku at Napoli
Napoli seemingly view Hojlund as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to be out for up to four months with a thigh injury.
Should he complete the move, Hojlund will compete with Lorenzo Lucca for the number nine spot in Lukaku's absence.
The proposed move will also allow Hojlund to return to Champions League football for the first time since scoring five goals in six appearances in the 2023-24 competition.
