Jesse Lingard tells Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he would prefer to remain at Manchester United rather than move to West Ham United permanently, according to a report.

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has reportedly informed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of his desire to remain with the Red Devils.

The England international struggled to force his way into the Norwegian's plans during the first half of the 2020-21 season, but he proceeded to reignite his career on loan at West Ham United.

Lingard struck nine goals and assisted five more in 16 appearances as David Moyes's men secured Europa League football, and the Hammers are understandably keen to sign him on a permanent basis.

However, The Sun reports that Lingard has instead told Solskjaer that he sees his future at Old Trafford, and he has also informed his friends of his decision.

The report adds that Lingard is not totally opposed to a permanent move at West Ham, though, and the potential arrival of Jadon Sancho would hinder his game time at Old Trafford next season.

The 28-year-old remains contracted to the Red Devils for another 12 months, but he has supposedly been offered a new deal by the club.
