Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane says that he 'cannot control what will happen in the future', as the speculation surrounding a potential summer exit continues.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane said that he 'cannot control what will happen in the future' when asked about a potential summer exit.

The England captain was strongly linked with a big-money move to Manchester City last summer, but the Citizens could not come to an agreement with Spurs over a transfer fee.

Kane made a slow start to the 2021-22 campaign but has been back to his best in recent weeks, boasting a record of 22 goals and six assists in 41 appearances at club level this term.

Manchester United are thought to be weighing up a big-money summer bid for the 28-year-old, who only has little over two years left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, when asked whether he needs to secure his future at club level ahead of the 2022 World Cup, Kane insisted that he is only currently focusing on finishing the season in good form for Antonio Conte's side.

"My main focus is finishing this season... I can't control what's going to happen in the future. I want to be going into that tournament in the best form possible," Kane told reporters.

The centre-forward is with the Three Lions squad preparing for their upcoming friendlies with Switzerland and Ivory Coast on March 26 and March 29 respectively.
