Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he wants to hold talks over a new contract with the Premier League champions.
The 34-year-old, who scored the winner in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Swansea City, is due to be a free agent at the end of the season.
When asked if he was keen to discuss a possible extension with the club's hierarchy, Ferdinand told Sky Sports News: "It'd be nice.
"I'll have to speak to the board and hopefully the manager puts in a good word in for me!"
It was reported over the weekend that a number of clubs around the world were keeping track of Ferdinand's contract situation at United.
