Former defender Wes Brown says that Manchester United would be getting a similar player to Cristiano Ronaldo if they can sign Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.

Wes Brown has predicted that Jadon Sancho would excite Manchester United supporters in a similar way to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Having played a direct part in 37 goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season, the Borussia Dortmund winger is being linked with a big-money switch to Old Trafford.

Although the 20-year-old may cost in the region of £100m, Brown feels that the England international has the potential to provide the same level of entertainment as Ronaldo.

Speaking to MUTV, the former defender said: "Talent and excitement. We need someone exactly like that at the club. We've had them over the years and I'm sure if we were to sign him he would bring that excitement back to the club. It would be good for the team as well.

"We've had players like that in the past, like with Cristiano Ronaldo. They're the type of player who draw three or four defenders out and make the game a lot easier for the other players."

Club officials will allegedly prioritise an approach for Sancho during the next transfer window.
