Media reports claim that the Welsh FA want Ryan Giggs as their new manager.

The Welsh Football Association want Ryan Giggs to be the new national team manager, reports suggest.

Welsh football chiefs will approach the Manchester United midfielder, according to The Sun newspaper which quoted a "Wales insider".

It was also reported that talks with Giggs will not start until the New Year out of respect to Gary Speed and his grieving family.

"Ryan has never managed but he's seen as a natural successor to Gary. At 38, he's the right age to be on the same wavelength as our young team," said the insider.

"We've had success with people in the same position.

"Gary had very limited experience as a manager but he did a great job. Our players and fans still haven't got over his death."

Giggs is expected to be offered a new deal at Old Trafford after Ferguson insisted he could play for another year.
