Robin van Persie thanks Manchester United fans

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has thanked the club's supporters for helping him to settle in since his summer arrival from Arsenal.

The Dutch international has become a favourite among United fans and was even voted the club's player of the month for December.

Having had a few days to reflect on the award, the 29-year-old took the time out to thank those that had voted for him.

"It's always nice to be recognised by the fans," he told the club's official website. "I have settled into the club quite quickly and I am really enjoying playing in this team. I would like to thank the fans for all their support."

Van Persie has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season.
